Deep Search help and answers
Answers to the questions people ask most: getting the right match, how subscriptions work, where saved reports live and how to remove your name. Can't find yours? Send us a message and we'll reply by email.
Searching and matches
Tips for a better match, what the badges mean, and what to do when a search comes back empty or expires.
Open Add details and fill in one thing the person is known for: the company they work at, their job title, or the city or country they live in. One good detail usually does more than three vague ones. If the name has more than one spelling, start with the one the person uses in public.
The person may have little public presence online, or the name may be spelled another way. Try another spelling, drop a middle name, or add a company or city. If you already added details, try again with fewer. Searching costs nothing either way.
Each match carries a badge that shows how closely it fits what you typed. Strong means the name and your details line up well. Possible means some details fit. Weak means little more than the name matches, so read its sources before you pick it. Each card also shows how many public sources were found for that person.
Usually a minute or two. Matches appear as they are found, so you can start reading before the search finishes. If you refresh the page, the same search picks up again in that tab.
Searches stay open for a limited time. After that we can no longer load the results, so run the search again. Finding matches stays free either way. A report that already arrived is kept in Saved reports.
Subscriptions and plans
Searching is free. Here is how the full report subscription works, what you get without an account, and how to cancel.
Searching a name and seeing the matches is always free. A subscription unlocks full reports: subscribe once and open as many as you like while your plan is active. Plans renew automatically until you cancel.
No. Searching needs no account and has no limit. You need a Deep Search account only to subscribe, so you can manage billing and cancel from it.
Log in and open your account. It shows your plan, its billing period and when it next renews.
You can keep searching for free. Opening a full report shows a locked preview with the real counts we found, and an Unlock results button to subscribe.
Log in, open your account and choose Manage subscription. You can cancel from there, and cancelling stops future charges.
Reports, privacy and removal
Saved reports stay in your browser, and contact details never appear. Asking us to remove your name is free.
In this browser, on the Saved reports page. A finished report is saved there as soon as it arrives, and you can remove one or clear them all. They are not stored in your account, so they won't appear on another device or in another browser, and clearing your browser data removes them.
Not with a link. We don't publish pages about people, so a report never gets a public web address. You can copy what you need from a report you opened.
No. Email addresses, phone numbers and messaging links are removed from every result, and reports never include them. A report covers work history, education, public profiles and public photos linked to the person instead.
Use the removal form, linked at the end of this page. Tell us the name as it appears in results and any links you want reviewed. It is free and you don't need an account. We review each request and reply by email. The source pages stay online, because they belong to other websites.
No. Deep Search is not a consumer reporting agency, and a report is not a background check. Don't use it to screen job applicants or tenants, or for any decision about someone's employment, credit, housing or insurance. In the US, those decisions are covered by the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). Deep Search is for research, such as reading up on someone before a meeting.
