About Deep Search

An honest people search, built to show its sources.

Many people-search sites make you pay before you can tell whether they found the right person, and some still blur or lock parts of what you paid for. We built Deep Search to work the other way round: searching for a name and seeing how many profiles and sources we found is always free, and we say upfront what a subscription unlocks.

You type a name, pick the person you mean from a list of possible matches, and read a report built from the public web.

What we promise

  • Searching is free and unlimited. See how many profiles and sources we found for any name, with no card and no limit.
  • A subscription unlocks the full report: every profile, its facts, photos and sources, all unlimited while your plan is active.
  • Every fact in a report links to the page it came from.
  • We never show email addresses, phone numbers or messaging links.

How reports are built

Matches from public web pages

Reports are built from public web pages each time someone searches: professional profiles, company sites, news, encyclopedias, code hosting and video sites. We group those pages into possible people and give each match a badge that reads Strong, Possible or Weak, next to the number of sources behind it. A search usually takes a minute or two.

A numbered source for every fact

Once you pick the right person, we build the report: work history, education, public profiles and public photos linked to that person. Each fact carries a numbered marker. Open it to see the source's title, a short quote from the page and a link to it.

Contact details removed

Email addresses, phone numbers and messaging links are removed before a match or report reaches you. For the full walk-through, see how a people search report is built.

People who appear in results

Every search is about a real person, and they deserve a say too. We don't publish pages about anyone, there are no public share links, and saved reports stay in the browser of the person who ran the search.

If your name appears in results and you want it reviewed, you can ask us to remove your name. It is free, you don't need an account, and we reply by email.

What we are not

Deep Search is not a consumer reporting agency. It is a research tool for professional context, like checking who you are about to meet or preparing for a sales call. Don't use it for decisions about employment, credit, housing or insurance.

Reports can be incomplete or out of date, because the pages behind them can be, so check anything important against the original source. Our permitted use rules set out what you may do with a report, and our guide is it legal to look someone up? covers the legal background.
